Can I drink the water?2020-07-21T10:20:22-06:00

Tap water is safe to drink in Israel at hotels and most other sites. We recommend drinking lots of water to stay hydrated and also purchasing bottles of water in country as you will be walking, hiking and moving throughout your trip.

Will I need an adapter-converter?2020-07-21T15:50:56-06:00

For US citizens you will need an adapter-converter. The electric current in Israel is 220 volts, C, single phase, 50 Hertz, the same as in Europe and most Israeli sockets are three-pronged which are not the same as the US. As with any other trip you take, make sure you bring your chargers for your laptops, phones, tablets and other electronic devices.

You can purchase an adapter-converter on websites like Amazon, at a Best-Buy, or your local electronics store.

Will I have internet access?2020-07-21T10:22:04-06:00

Israel is a modern nation featuring excellent internet coverage in most areas, but you will need to secure an international data and calling plan from your service provider (AT&T, Verizon, etc.) Most hotels in Israel offer Wi-Fi service, as well as many coffee shops and restaurants. The City of Tel Aviv actually offers a citywide free Wi-Fi network with 80 free Internet “hot spots” across the city. Israel’s country code is + 972.

Do I need insurance?2020-07-21T15:51:47-06:00

We strongly recommend purchasing some form of travel insurance which can help ease your concerns and any emergencies that could arise during your tour. Most affordable plans provide valuable coverage for things such as trip cancellations, lost luggage, medical expenses and any other unforeseen circumstance that could arise.

In the event that you must cancel your participation in a travel program, trip cancellation insurance may be the only source of reimbursement.

City Express Travel & Tours does not directly sell travel or international medical insurance; however we recommend two reliable and affordable companies. Please follow this link…. https://cityexpresstravel.net/travel-insurance-2/

Will I be able to use my cell phone?2020-07-21T10:23:17-06:00

With today’s modern technology, there are several options. We first recommend that you check with your current cell phone provider (AT&T, Verizon, etc.) as they may offer an inexpensive international rate that will allow you to use your phone for voice and data needs in Israel.

Since Wi-Fi is readily available in Israel, many travelers use smartphone apps (i.e. Skype or WhatsApp or FaceTime) to make international calls over Wi-Fi.

You can also rent a phone within Israel. Please click these recommend companies for more details… www.talknsave.net or www.travelcell.com.

Is there any free time?2020-07-21T15:53:03-06:00

Typically your day starts at about 8 AM and your tour and sightseeing will end around 5-6 PM (based on your itinerary for the day). In the evenings you will have free time which usually consists of being in the hotel and relaxing with your group before you start the next day.

If you would like free time during the day on your tour so that you can roam the city on your own, that can definitely be arranged. Please ask at time of booking.

How much walking is required?2020-07-21T10:26:05-06:00

Each day on your tour does require lots of walking and movement throughout the day. Israel is a land of hills and plateaus so please be sure you are in good physical condition to walk daily and we highly recommend wearing comfortable, broken-in, closed toed walking shoes as you tour throughout the day.

If there are any particular disabilities or mobility issues please mention at the time of booking.
